Leeds United fans buzzing as Manor Solomon makes new admission ahead of Bristol City clash
Daniel Farke was without Manor Solomon for four consecutive matches as Leeds United continued their Championship promotion charge.
Before finally returning to action in the 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Friday 18 October, the winger was dealt a back problem which led to a hamstring issue, leaving Farke short of options on the flank.
While Largie Ramazani and Wilfried Gnonto have been covering the flanks, and rather well too, the former has now suffered a new setback, making Solomon’s return from injury all the more important.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post [24 October], Solomon said: “I’m feeling good and it’s behind me and I just want to get more minutes and to play better, to show a better version of myself. I’m still not at the top of my game but I will get there.”
Although the 25-year-old only has an assist to his name since arriving at Elland Road, he has already shown his abilities as a Premier League-quality player.
Manor Solomon still has more to show at Leeds United
This makes his “still not at the top of my game” admission all the more exciting, and fans will be expecting many more goal contributions before the season ends.
The Israeli international, who has already been dubbed “brilliant” by BBC journalist Adam Pope, notched 31 goal contributions in 106 matches for Shakhtar Donetsk.
His time in England has been far from ideal, suffering multiple injuries with Fulham and Tottenham, and that was certainly a concern as his one-game absence turned into four, but he is back and ready for more.
Of course, it is far too early to judge his career at Elland Road yet, but the early signs are really positive and fans will be overjoyed to see him coming back to the starting XI soon.
