Leeds United ‘dodge Louie Barry bullet’ as update emerges at Hull City
Leeds United appear to have avoided making a transfer mistake with Louie Barry after missing out on him to Hull City.
The Whites were heavily interested in the Aston Villa youngster who had already scored 16 goals across 24 appearances in the opening half of the season.
This saw Unai Emery recall the 21-year-old back to the West Midlands before opting to loan the versatile forward to the second tier.
Leeds missed out on the Englishman to Hull but now the Elland Road club are likely to be glad of that after the latest development at the MKM Stadium.

Louie Barry could miss rest of the season with knee injury at Hull City
After what was such a productive opening to the campaign in League One, it was little surprise that the Villans wanted to see Barry test himself at a higher level.
Given that Leeds are fighting for a place in the Premier League, it could be said they were a step too far and their interest was met with a refusal from Villa Park.
Despite this, it also appears that a switch to the Tigers wasn’t the right move after their new number 22 failed to score or assist in his opening four appearances.

This frustration was only made worse when the Englishman was forced off last time out against Sunderland with a suspected knee injury.
Hull have since confirmed their loan star is set to be out for a lengthy period with a knee cartilage issue with it also being reported that the ex-Barcelona ace could return to Villa for his recovery [Leon Wobschall].
With this being the case, it is safe to say that Daniel Farke will be glad that his side didn’t win the race to sign Barry or rely on his impact to send them towards promotion.
Leeds United glad to dodge Barry transfer bullet
Leeds showed a keen interest in signing a forward during the winter window with Cameron Archer also of firm interest in LS11.
Ultimately, any potential targets were missed and the Whites’ head coach was forced to work with what he had for the rest of the season with the goal of promotion in mind.
Although this may have looked to be a blow at the time, it now appears to have been a wise move with the form that Leeds have shown and this injury blow to Barry.
After a win against Sheffield United, Farke’s side are well on their way to the Premier League with their current stars putting in a shift week in and week out.
Although supporters will never know what sort of impact the Villa starlet could have had on their promotion journey, it appears that this sort of injury was on the cards regardless.
It will certainly be interesting to see if the Englishman can bounce back quickly from this and potentially become of interest to Leeds further down the line.
