Leeds United could guarantee promotion after Evan Ferguson news

Leeds United have had a strong season so far and look well on their way to promotion back to the Premier League.

The Whites currently occupy second in the Championship table, three points away from the top spot and have proven their ability to be a threat throughout the campaign.

However with plenty of the season still to be played, Daniel Farke will need to make sure he makes the necessary additions in the January transfer window to retain their position as a dominant side.

Despite having scored goals this term, one area where United are lacking is in the striker department with the likes of Joel Piroe and Joseph having underwhelmed with nine goals between them in the league.

According to The Scotsman, the Whites are interested in the signing of Evan Ferguson who is available for a loan from Brighton in the second half of the season.

Evan Ferguson could be exactly what Leeds United need

The striker really needs minutes under his belt going forward after making just 11 performances, two of which have been starts, in the top flight this season.

However, the 20-year-old has scored one goal showing he still has the ability to make an impact in the team.

The youngster has proven he can score goals with six to his name in the top flight last season and therefore, you can imagine that with a run of games and some confidence, he would easily get going in the Championship.

To have a player in the dressing room with the top-flight experience will only be a good thing for Farke as that is where he is aiming to take his side this season, making this a signing that will align with the side’s aims.

Despite a lack of goals this season, this would still be a solid signing for the West Yorkshire outfit and the addition of a goalscorer who would no doubt find his way in the second tier very easily could really push the side towards those automatic promotion places at the end of the campaign.
