Leeds United can focus entirety of transfer power on Arnaud Kalimuendo after Che Adams update emerges

The search for a new striker goes on for Leeds United and there appears to be no immediate player on the verge of arriving at Elland Road.

Plenty of names have been thrown around but the time has come for all of the attention to be focused on one player and a deal to be worked on until a decision is made either way.

That individual won’t be Southampton’s Che Adams though who the Whites were keen on earlier in the transfer window, as reported by The Sun.

That’s because talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has issued an update regarding his future at St Mary’s Stadium that indicates he won’t be leaving the Saints anytime soon.

“Told Saints are not looking to sell Che Adams this month and that he is still a key player for them,” Crook said via his personal Twitter account. “They are also confident of adding another attacking player this window but the plan is in addition to Adams, not to replace.”

Instead, Victor Orta needs to put all of his resources behind a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Arnaud Kalimuendo who is keen to leave the Parc Des Princes this summer and Elland Road could be a destination for him [90min].

The 20-year-old could be purchased for just £21.1million right now as the Parisiens look to offload the highly-rated youngster to balance the books and potentially make further signings before the transfer window closes.

The decision has now been taken out of the hands of the Whites on the Adams front so Kalimuendo now looks like the obvious choice and unless things go south, there is no other reason to seek other players for now.

In other Leeds United news, there is no pressing financial pressure for the Whites to sell one of their promotion-winners despite a transfer being easy to complete.
