Daniel Farke is a man under pressure after Leeds United dropped two more points as they were held by Luton Town.

Daniel James struck before half-time to cancel out Isaiah Jones' volley, but Leeds could not complete the turnaround in a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road.

A third successive draw for Leeds - the other two coming against QPR and Swansea City - sees them slip out of the automatic promotion zone in the Championship.

Given there are only six more matches to come after this weekend, that is not where Leeds - or indeed Farke - want to be right now.

Farke reacts to Leeds draw v Luton

Farke surely knows he is at risk of being sacked by Leeds if he fails to guide the Whites up to the Premier League this term - either automatically or via the playoffs.

Yet despite the magnitude of what is on the line, and Leeds' very shaky form, Farke claimed the draw at Luton was a positive result.

“It’s definitely a point gained," Farke told the assembled press after the draw at Kenilworth Road. "Never underestimate the importance of a draw on the road."

As a reminder, Luton are second-bottom of the Championship and have struggled all season since coming down from the Premier League.

A draw at Luton early on in the season may have been considered a positive result, but not now - and especially not with his side now outside the top two.

Premier League promotion all that counts for Leeds

Leeds have a tricky test at home to Middlesbrough on their return to action on Tuesday (8 April), which is followed by games against Preston North End and Oxford United.

If that wasn't a big game beforehand, it certainly is now. Leeds simply cannot afford to lose any more ground in the next few weeks.

Farke's suggestion this draw with a poor Luton side is a positive result is quite frankly ridiculous.

The brutal truth is more results and more performances like this will mean no promotion. And if that is the case, Farke can say goodbye to his job at Elland Road.
