Leeds United ace Ao Tanaka will fume at latest Sky Sports announcement

Sky Sports pundit Luke Chambers announced his Championship Team of the Season so far with Ao Tanaka the most notable omission and he will rightly be fuming.

Tanaka has been a standout performer for Leeds this season and has comfortably been one of the best players in the Championship with his midfield capabilities on show every week.

The Japan international has already been tipped for a Premier League move as a result of his showings this campaign and his omission from Chambers’ Championship TOTS (Sky Sports) is ludicrous.

Despite occupying the summit of the Championship, the Whites only have two representatives in his XI with Jayden Bogle and Pascal Struijk included.

Ao Tanaka deserves more respect for Leeds United performances

If you ask any Leeds supporter, they will wax lyrical about Tanaka’s ability but it is evidently something that gets overlooked by other supporters and pundits.

Quite frankly, while he absolutely deserves more recognition, fool anyone who doubts his ability and it can only benefit the Whites going forward.

If teams want to underestimate the impact of Tanaka, they can face the consequences and there certainly will be plenty of them.

Of course, with those performances comes interest and it would come as a huge surprise if Leeds manage to go through the January window without having to fight off interest from Premier League Clubs which is where the Whites may need to be if they are to retain his services beyond this season.

Keeping Tanaka fit is an integral component of promotion for Leeds this season and if they can do that, they have an excellent chance of achieving promotion.
