Leeds in hunt for loan signing that’ll guarantee Premier League promotion
Leeds United are having a great season as they hunt for promotion back to the Premier League.
The Whites currently sit second in the table, three points behind Sheffield United in top spot.
Generally, Daniel Farke’s side have been in good form although they are lacking at the top end of the pitch with the current striker options not doing enough on a consistent basis.
Therefore, with plenty of the season left to be played, the boss will need to solve this issue in the upcoming January transfer window if he wants his side to stay at the right end of the table.
One man who could solve the problems at Elland Road is Louie Barry who Leeds have been linked with for a loan move from Aston Villa [Sunday Mirror].
The 21-year-old has been on loan with Stockport County for the first half of the season and is in red-hot form, having scored 14 goals in 20 games.
Villa are said to be prepared to recall their young forward and loan him straight back out to a Championship side to give him the step up.
Louie Barry could be the key to Leeds United promotion
Unsurprisingly, the Whites are not the only team after the youngster in January with his form in League One speaking for itself to make him a popular target.
However, if Leeds could pull this loan move off, it could be the difference in their season that secures them the promotion they are seeking.
Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph are not performing the way you would expect the forwards of a top side in the Championship to and goals really could spell the difference at Elland Road in the second half of the season as a player who can play across the front three.
Despite there being competition for his services, Farke’s side will surely back themselves to be an attractive prospect given they are winning games and sitting at the top end of the table.
Furthermore, his parent club could feel that the chance to play in a promotion-chasing side and be a part of that going up to the top flight would be beneficial for his development off the pitch as well as on the field.
Farke should be demanding that his team do all they can to secure this loan deal as Barry could be the difference between promotion and staying still for the Whites.
