Kiko Casilla must be booted of Elland Road within weeks as Leeds United disgrace suffers woeful loan

Marcelo Bielsa did plenty of good in his time at Leeds United but the one thing the really let the club down with was his management of Kiko Casilla.

Despite Casilla, 35, being accused of racially abusing Jonathan Leko in the 2019/20 promotion-winning season, the Spanish goalkeeper was regularly played by Bielsa.

And even after he served an eight-match ban after he was found to have used a racist word towards Leko, Casilla still managed to make Bielsa’s plans.

In fact, Bielsa played a player who’d been banned for racism more than once.

And what made matters even worse was when Bielsa handed Casilla the captain’s armband in the Carabao Cup last season when Leeds lost to Hull City on penalties.

Casilla played five times for the first-team last season as Illan Meslier made his mark as the club’s number one and in the summer, Bielsa and Victor Orta shipped the ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper back to Spain as he joined Elche on loan.

However, Casilla’s spell at Elche has been a rotten one with the veteran shot-stopper not playing in a league game for them since October and not playing at all for the La Liga club in 2022.

Casilla’s loan spell ends in a matter of weeks with Elche’s last fixture set to take place on 22 May.

When that temporary agreement expires, Casilla will return to Leeds with another year remaining on his contract.

Jesse Marsch can right a massive wrong of Bielsa’s and give the Spaniard his marching orders before he even bothers returning to the UK.

Casilla disgraced the name of this football club with his actions and on top of that, he was an absolutely horrific goalkeeper and doesn’t deserve anywhere near his reported £40,000-a-week wages [Football Insider].

Meslier is one hundred times the player as Casilla and we’d also rather see Kristoffer Klaesson as our number two than the Spaniard.

Let’s hope Marsch’s marching orders come in soon for the Elche loan flop.

In other Leeds United news, there’s also a perfect chance for Marsch to sign a player who Bielsa rejected at Elland Road.
