Junior Firpo end is near at Leeds United with Milos Kerkez on Victor Orta's radar

Junior Firpo is already a rare sight at Elland Road and his Leeds united journey could come to an end if Victor Orta gets his way.

The Dominican Republic left-back has spent much of the season on the sidelines through injury which has forced Jesse Marsch to play Pascal Struijk as a makeshift left-back all year.

As a result of the lack of options at the back, Orta is now looking to make moves in the January transfer window and one player who has emerged on the radar is Milos Kerkez.

TalkSPORT reported on 5 January via Twitter that the Whites were among three Premier League clubs (Bournemouth and Leicester) chasing the signature of the 19-year-old at AZ Alkmaar.

Kerkoz, who is already a full international for Hungary, has been in fantastic form this season in the Eredivisie having left AC Milan in the summer.

Orta would have to ask Andrea Radrizzani for at least £15million to make a deal happen in January and that is only if AZ are willing to sell him in the middle of a season.

If they do opt for that, then Firpo may well find himself as one of the players heading out of the Leeds United doors either this month or in the summer after a less-than-impressive spell at Thorp Arch so far.

He can produce the odd moment of brilliance but his inconsistency on the pitch and in terms of availability makes it very difficult for any manager to put their full faith in him.

He has had plenty of chances to stamp his authority on the club and that position, in particular, and he has failed to do so which means a new challenger has to step up to the mark.
