Joel Piroe patience pays off for Daniel Farke as Leeds United smash Plymouth
Joel Piroe played a huge part for Leeds United as they stormed to an easy 3-0 win against Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road, repaying Daniel Farke.
Piroe scored his first goal since heading home against Sunderland on 4 October, silencing a few who had begun to doubt Farke’s persistence in giving him the game time many had cried out for.
The Dutchman finished the second of the game on 2 November before playing a part in Brenden Aaronson’s third for Leeds, who have been under pressure to keep pace with Sunderland and Burnley at the top of the Championship.
Joel Piroe shows class is permanent with Leeds United impact
Piroe has endured a frustrating season from a personal perspective so far, despite the fact he already had four league goals heading into this game, topping the charts for his club.
Despite his positive record, the forward only had 480 league minutes under his belt so far within the opening 12 league matches, often utilised by Farke as an effective weapon off the bench.
In recent weeks, he has been preferred to Mateo Joseph and has also filled in elsewhere, having started every game since the night at the Stadium of Light a month ago.

Piroe would certainly start for most, if not all, of the rest of the Championship, which in part justifies the immense pressure on the Whites to earn promotion at the second attempt.
But against Plymouth, they have made absolutely no mistake – ensuring Wayne Rooney suffered a difficult afternoon as a pantomime villain at Elland Road.
