Isaac Schmidt scored a goal to help St Gallen reach the Conference League group stages ahead of a deadline day move to Leeds United.
The 24-year-old netted on 31 minutes against Trabzonspor to put the Swiss outfit 6-4 up on aggregate in the final qualifying round.
Their lead lasted just 20 minutes before Enis Destan levelled the scores and eventually took the tie to penalties.
Schmidt’s side prevailed and secured their place in the Conference League and now the right-back looks set to depart in a move to Elland Road.

A flight to England will come just hours after securing a place in European competition for St Gallen in a superb end to his career in Switzerland.
The versatile fullback is high on Daniel Farke’s shopping list and it looks now like a deal can be completed before the 30 August deadline.
The 24-year-old’s contract expires in 2026 and the Whites could now land his signature in a multi-million deal from the Super League [Blick].
Alongside Ao Tanaka, Leeds could be set to add to their squad before the transfer window closes in a positive end to the summer.
Farke appears to be getting in the players he wants and with Schmidt set to fly in after a perfect end to his time at St Gallen, there is plenty to be excited for amongst supporters.
