Farke ‘has questions to answer’ over Willy Gnonto after Leeds United comments
Willy Gnonto has expressed his desire to make many more memories at Leeds United and it makes Daniel Farke’s recent decisions seem questionable.
Leeds are enjoying a wonderful campaign, sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table and certainly in the driving seat to achieve their ultimate goal of promotion.
However, Gnonto has barely been afforded the chance to contribute towards that in recent weeks, having spoken openly about his desire to help the club going forward.
The Italian, though, is not being afforded starts and it leaves Farke with a question to be answered.
Why isn’t Gnonto being utilised at Leeds United?
While the need for rotation is evident, in the case of Gnonto it appears to have gone far beyond that need with the Italian making just four starts in the last 10 games, playing just 374 minutes of football in that time.
For comparison, Manor Solomon has started seven and Dan James has started eight.
Gnonto, more often than not, has the ability that puts him right at the top of the Championship in terms of the best players, and when the promotion race is as tight as it is, it seems odd for him to be snubbed so much recently.

Of course, football doesn’t work in hindsight, and as things stand results for the large part are favouring the Whites.
But Gnonto has the attributes to turn close encounters into comfortable wins, which could prove crucial come the end of the campaign.
Farke needs to start utilising the Italian far more often as, despite having been limited for game time in recent weeks, he still has nine league contributions this season.
