Glen Kamara on verge of exit after Leeds United transfer announcement
Leeds United have seen plenty of players come and go throughout the summer transfer window.
Since the window has been open, the Whites have seen players such as Archie Gray depart to Tottenham whilst Joe Rodon has made his return.
Although these are the two main moves from Elland Road thus far, that doesn’t mean the West Yorkshire outfit are set to stop there.
The loss of Gray has come as a massive blow to both the team and the fans and one player that Leeds won’t want to see the back of following that is Glen Kamara.
The Finland international has been heavily linked with a move to Stade Rennais and is also said to have agreed on personal terms [Corriere dello Sport].
It would be a surprise to see the former Rangers man depart but with the new addition of Joe Rothwell on loan from Bournemouth, it feels as if Daniel Farke is preparing for a possible exit.
Why Leeds United signing Joe Rothwell could mean Glen Kamara is on his way out
At certain points last term, Rothwell was deployed further forward in a central midfield role for Southampton.
But, for the vast majority of the season, he was used as a holding playmaker. More often than not, Farke uses a 4-2-3-1 to line his team up.
So, in theory, there would be room for both players in the team. However, although Ethan Ampadu played a large chunk of last season in centre-back his natural role is that of a defensive midfielder.
And, with the return of Pascal Struijk imminent following the long-term injury he suffered, the Wales international could be pushed further forward once again.

This would leave Leeds with three defensive midfielders and only two starting spots, so with the addition of Rothwell, it seems to make sense that Kamara could be on the cusp of leaving.
Of course, things change during the transfer window in an instant and anything could happen but one thing is for sure, this will be one to keep an eye on over the summer.
