‘Farke could jump before he’s pushed at Leeds’ amid Jose Mourinho bombshell

Daniel Farke could take matters into his own hands if Leeds United look to bring in Jose Mourinho.

The Whites have hit a rough patch of form at the most important point of the season after drawing back-to-back games.

Last time out against Swansea City, two Illan Meslier errors resulted in points being shared despite taking the lead at Elland Road on two separate occasions.

With promotion still on the cards, there is still every chance that Farke could make an exit as Mourinho was linked to his job.

Mourinho could replace Farke at Leeds United

It is fair to say that the German head coach has done well to stabilise the LS11 club and make them a consistent challenger in the Championship.

With that being said, the ultimate aim will be to return to the Premier League and that hasn’t been achieved as of yet.

There is every chance that he could achieve that this campaign, but recent issues could see the Thorp Arch hierarchy take action.

This has seen Mourinho be linked with a move to Elland Road after being named as a dream appointment after promotion.

Andy Goldstein dropped this bombshell on talkSPORT (4 April, 06:12pm), as he said: “If Leeds come up to the Premier League, we came up with an unbelievable fit for who their manager should be. It’s Jose Mourinho.

“Everyone hates Leeds and everyone hates Jose. Jose needs to go to a sleeping giant, a big club. They would adore Jose, he’s Bielsa-like.

“If you’re coming back into the Premier League, you’d have to be an evil owner to say, ‘Thanks for getting us up, thanks for making us like £200m but we’re going to let you go.’ Awful.”

If the Whites are to consider new options for the dugout ahead of the new season, Farke could make the decision to leave himself.

Farke could leave Leeds United before being sacked

It is fair to say that the German has a poor record in his previous Premier League spells with Norwich City which may concern Leeds fans.

The concern could be echoed further when the failures of recently promoted sides are taken into account.

If the Whites want to stabilise themselves in the top tier, the introduction of Mourinho could prove to be the difference between survival and relegation.

With that being said, Farke may still deserve the chance to have a go at keeping the side he has crafted in the Premier League, at least for a few months.

If he feels as if he isn’t going to get that opportunity at Elland Road, an early summer exit could prove to be a wise move.
