Fabrizio Romano transfer update on Joe Rodon is brilliant news for Leeds United fans

Tottenham look set to let Joe Rodon go in the summer transfer window which could see Leeds United sign him on a permanent deal.

Fabrizio Romano has reported (21 May) that Ange Postecoglou is willing to let the Welshman go during the summer transfer window.

This could see the Whites move quickly to sign the defender on a permanent basis if they are promoted after an initial loan spell at Elland Road.

If Spurs are looking to move Rodon on, he could be available on a cheaper fee and prove to be a great piece of business.

Should Leeds United sign Joe Rodon permanently?

The centre-back has been a great loan signing for Daniel Farke this season which has seen him be a near-ever-present for Leeds.

He has made 45 Championship appearances and is yet to score this season [FotMob] with one game in the Play-Offs remaining.

Rodon has helped contribute to the Whites securing 19 clean sheets this season which is the most in the entire division.

The success of the campaign now rests on a clash against Southampton at Wembley in which Leeds need to win to win promotion.

With him being on loan, if Farke’s side aren’t promoted it may prove difficult for them to sign Rodon on a permanent basis.

On the flip side, if promotion to the Premier League is won at Wembley then signing the Welshman permanently may be entirely likely.

Tottenham want to get rid of him after four years and two loan spells away and a move to Elland Road could make sense for all parties.
