Daniel Farke sets himself up to be sacked by Leeds United
Leeds United surrendered their leads twice as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Swansea at Elland Road on Saturday.
The Whites got off to the perfect start as they went ahead through Brenden Aaronson after just one minute, but Harry Darling bagged the visitors’ equaliser shortly after the hour mark.
Daniel Farke’s men then went 2-1 up, thanks to substitute Wilfried Gnonto, but Zan Vipotnik’s late strike ensured that the spoils were shared in West Yorkshire.
Leeds will be disappointed that they now sit two points below league leaders Sheffield United, but they were lucky to avoid defeat as Illan Meslier had to deny Josh Tymon’s penalty, before his howlers.

Farke makes bullish Premier League claim despite Leeds draw with Swansea
The Whites’ 2-2 draw with Swansea marked the fourth time in just five games that Farke’s men have dropped points.
Opponent | Result |
West Brom (H) | 1-1 D |
Portsmouth (A) | 1-0 L |
Millwall (H) | 2-0 W |
QPR (A) | 2-2 D |
Swansea (H) | 2-2 D |
Despite that, though, Farke remains positive about his side’s promotion credentials and said: “I am 100 per cent convinced we will play in the Premier League next season.”
Farke could now be sacked if Leeds don’t win promotion
The Whites’ poor form is not the sort that is usually associated with a side who are likely to book their spot in next season’s Premier League.
Meanwhile, third-place Burnley are now level on points with Farke’s men and have won four of their last five Championship games.
The Clarets have not lost in the second tier since their 1-0 loss to Millwall on 3 November, so the Elland Road faithful will now fear that Scott Parker’s men could overtake Farke’s side.
In their next match on 5 April, Leeds take on Luton, who still occupy a spot in the relegation zone despite their 1-0 win at Hull on Saturday.
The West Yorkshire giants should fancy their chances of beating a relegation-threatened team, but their 1-0 defeat at Portsmouth is indicative that it may not be an easy task.
While Farke remains adamant that his side will be competing in the Premier League next season, he has now set himself up to be sacked if the Whites don’t win promotion.
