Dan James now untouchable for Leeds United after what he did v Bristol City

Dan James has made his role in the Leeds United starting XI untouchable after the performance he put in against Bristol City on 26 October.

The attacker has had a couple of problems with injuries this season but since his return, he has shined and did so once again in the 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate.

James has always been one of Leeds’ brightest talents over the last few seasons and this term has been no different, especially after his “outstanding” outing last time out left Chris Iwelumo blown away.

James’ performance against Bristol City was the first time he’d started a game since his return from injury and he was among the best attackers on the pitch.

With the form Manor Solomon currently finds himself in, it feels like James’ role within Daniel Farke’s set-up is guaranteed, for now at least.

Dan James could be the answer to promotion for Leeds United

Many attacking players were brought into Elland Road in the summer transfer window due to the sales of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter leaving gaps to fill.

Indeed, Largie Ramazani and Solomon were both brought in to try and boost Leeds’ promotion hopes but since the Israel international’s injury, he’s not managed to re-find the form he showed upon his initial arrival.

Hence why, James’ inclusion in the Whites’ set-up now seems almost guaranteed.

Willy Gnonto has undoubtedly been Farke’s best player this season but if the Welshman can keep up this level of form, it feels like there’s nothing to stop the West Yorkshire outfit from gaining Premier League promotion.

It’s still early in the term and plenty could change before then but if Farke wants to have a proper run at promotion or the Championship title, James may be the man he needs to call upon to make those dreams become a reality.
