Crysencio Summerville axed, Patrick Bamford decision made: Leeds United predicted XI v Chelsea
Daniel Farke will have tough decisions to make ahead of an FA Cup clash with Chelsea on Wednesday 28 February, with Leeds United also targeting promotion back to the Premier League.
The Whites took an important step closer to the first division on Friday 23 February, completing a 3-1 victory over league leaders Leicester City at Elland Road.
Although Farke’s side can boast just six losses in all competitions this season, Chelsea are a whole different animal, who will be looking for revenge after losing the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool.
Liam Cooper to be called up by Leeds United
Farke is unlikely to drop Illan Meslier, who has started 32 of Leeds’ 34 Championship matches this season. As a mainstay in the squad, the 21-year-old has made 53 saves while keeping 14 clean sheets in the league. [FotMob]
While Junior Firpo and Archie Gray are expected to maintain their spots in the starting XI, the first of three changes could come in the centre of defence.
Liam Cooper could come back into the side, alongside Joe Rodon, to add more experience to the backline against Premier League opposition.
It would be difficult to see Ethan Ampadu dropped, having missed just one match in all competitions since arriving at Elland Road in the summer. Signing from Chelsea, the Welshman will have something to prove at Stamford Bridge.
If Ampadu is to be shifted back into his more natural midfield position, he could be alongside Ilia Gruev, who has impressed in recent weeks, with Glen Kamara handed a well-earned rest.

Could Daniel Farke drop Crysencio Summerville?
With no goal contributions in his previous two outings, Farke may drop Crysencio Summerville and allow Wilfried Gnonto to deputise on his favoured left flank, with Dan James on the opposite wing.
Joel Piroe has failed to make the desired impact in recent matches, recording one goal in his last six appearances. This would suggest that Patrick Bamford will be trusted to lead the line, with Georginio Rutter in behind.
In other Leeds United news, another former key man is expected to leave as well, but for good money, by Phil Hay.
