Brenden Aaronson key to Leeds United promotion plans after what he did recently

Brenden Aaronson has returned to Leeds United with a bang this season, with his performance against Watford showcasing his importance.

It was disappointing to see the American deciding to leave on loan to Union Berlin after relegation from the Premier League two years ago.

However, the Elland Road faithful will surely be able to forgive the 24-year-old for that decision if he can guide the club back to the top flight at the end of the season.

Aaronson has popped up with some massive moments already, with goals against Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday and Watford.

The midfielder scored Leeds’ second goal in the 2-1 victory against the Hornets and was named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Week [LUFC, 24 October].

Brenden Aaronson pivotal to Leeds United success

It looks like Daniel Farke has found a way to get the best out of Aaronson, and it’s no surprise that the American has started for the German in the last nine Championship fixtures.

Against the Hornets, the 24-year-old was unarguably the best player on the pitch as he scored a goal, created five chances and had 79 per cent passing accuracy, as per FotMob.

Besides Aaronson’s attacking contributions, he also helped out defensively, winning five duels and completing one tackle.

Therefore, it feels like the midfielder was the missing piece from last season, and he could now help propel the club back into the promised land.

In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke has been credited for the decision taken on Brenden Aaronson.
