Elland Road

Leeds United home stadium

Leeds United have only ever had one stadium as they have been playing at Elland Road since their formation in 1919. Leeds get their nickname The Peacocks, which is more popular among older fans, from the original name of Elland Road – The Old Peacock Ground. The stadium hosted several rugby league games before being Leeds City and subsequently the Whites’ home.

The Whites’ first competitive game at Elland Road was a 0-0 draw with Barnsley in the Midland League in November 1919.

Elland Road’s capacity is 37,645. In September 2024, Leeds announced plans to increase it to around 53,000.
