NBA star Larry Nance Jr joins effort to buy Leeds United in bizarre new takeover twist
NBA player Larry Nance Jr will be a part of the 49ers Enterprises investment group buying Leeds United, according to Last Word on Sport.
The news outlet relayed a tweet by Nance Jr from Monday (5 June) when the New Orleans Pelicans power forward shared a suggestive emoji in reaction to takeover news at Elland Road.
On Tuesday (6 June), the Daily Mail reported that Andrea Radrizzani that he’s agreed terms to sell all of his Leeds shares to 49ers Enterprises with details now being passed onto the EFL.

And while Pete Lowry and Paraag Marathe are known to be part of the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers NFL franchise, there have been rumours of other investors being involved.
It seems, Nance Jr, a 30-year-old from Ohio, is also in the picture.
Weird twist
Well, who was expecting this?
It seems that Leeds’ owners are going to be made up of a group of misfits, in all honesty.
You have Marathe, who fits the bill. He;s served as the 49ers Enterprise president for some time now and has been associated with the 49ers’ NFL team for over two decades.
He’s also been Leeds’ vice chairman since January 2021 and been on the board since 2018.

Lowy is an Australian billionaire who supports Leeds. You can figure that one out for yourselves.
Nance Jr. has reportedly started to invest in assets in time for the end of his playing days in the NBA. He’s only turned 30 this year and his contract at the Pelicans doesn’t expire until 2024.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay reported on 3 March that “there is one US political figure with Washington links in the background” as well.
Who knows how this will go but the old saying suggests that too many cooks can spoil the broth.
Can too many owners spoil a football club?
In other Leeds United news, Patrick Bamford has finally spoken out after a retirement message was posted.
