49ers Enterprises takeover of Leeds United still weeks away – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Dan Plumley has insisted it will probably be weeks before the 49ers Enterprises takeover is 100% completed at Leeds United.
The American consortium has confirmed their agreement with Andrea Radrizzani for the takeover, but there are numerous EFL tests that need green-lighting first.
The finance expert admitted that there are procedures that need to be finalised and the club will be hoping they are done and dusted well ahead of the new season.

“It will probably be weeks,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“Looking at how these things operate in principle, it all looks good and fine. We know the 49ers have been in the background for a long time and you wouldn’t expect too many hold-ups but it does have to go through procedures and things like that.
“So, it will probably be weeks, but you will hope that it is all done and dusted well in advance of the new season so the club can kick on from there.”

Paraag Marathe is now the chairman of the club, and rather than wait around for this to be fully completed, he is busy with finding the new manager at Elland Road.
With transfers also needing to be sorted after that, the takeover cannot afford to be dragged out too long with confirmation hopefully coming sooner rather than later.
