Gabriel Gudmundsson has been one of Leeds United's standout players this season.

The left-back was signed for just £10million from Lille last summer, and he has slotted right into Daniel Farke's starting line-up.

He has made 32 appearances in the Premier League and has hardly put a foot wrong in his debut season in English football.

That has led to transfer speculation, with the latest claim being from BBC pundit Stephen Warnock, who believes that clubs will be looking at the Whites star.

Leeds can hold firm, though, as their position is secure when it comes to the Swedish international's future.

What has been said about Gudmundsson Leeds exit?

That is certainly Warnock's view, who raised the potential issue for the Peacocks, in an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post on 13 May.

Speaking to the outlet, he said: “It’s difficult to place him [among the best left-backs] in the Premier League because he’s a wing-back.

"I think he’s suited to that role more so than anything, but I do think there will be clubs looking at him in the Premier League, thinking ‘yeah’.

"He’d certainly be one that teams would look to poach.”

What is his contract situation at Leeds?

Leeds have tied Gudmundsson up for the immediate future, so they will not be worried about any exit talks just yet.

The Swede signed a four-year deal when he joined the LS11 outlet, meaning that they are in a comfortable position.

His contract runs until the summer of 2029, so it would be hard for any interested club to prise him away from Thorp Arch.

Why it is a win-win for Leeds

It is a win-win situation for the Whites, no matter which direction Gudmundsson's future goes in.

The contract that he is on, means that they could keep him for another three years and get the value of him on the pitch.

Or they can demand a huge fee to allow him to leave, which they could use to reinforce Farke's squad with top-quality talent, which they obviously have no trouble finding.

How does he feel about exit talk?

Gudmundsson is clearly loving life with the Peacocks, and he opened up on his connection with supporters after he scored against Norwich in the FA Cup in March.

Speaking after the 3-0 win, he said: "I had a good couple of chances in many games so I am happy about scoring that goal.

"You know, especially here at Elland Road, it is a special feeling."

From those comments, it seems that he would have no problems if Farke and Co decided to refuse any offers that they may receive in the summer.
