Leeds United hold ‘positive talks’ with Brendan Rodgers over vacant manager’s job
Leeds United have held “positive talks” with Brendan Rodgers about the vacant manager’s job, according to a report by Last Word on Sports.
The Whites are looking for a fifth manager since the start of last season after Sam Allardyce left the club following relegation, and Rodgers is one of the top targets to come into the job.
And according to a new report (13 June) the club have held positive talks with the FA Cup winning boss about taking over at Elland Road, with a source disclosing to them that there is more news to come soon.

“A source has revealed to Last Word on Football that Leeds United are having “positive talks” with Brendan Rodgers in their hunt for the next Leeds United manager,” they wrote.
“The source, who also revealed 49ers Enterprises’ purchase of the club to us, also said there was “some more news” to come soon.”
Ideal
In an ideal world Rodgers would come into Leeds United this summer, build the squad in his image using the young players we have and top talent at his disposal and get us into the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The likelihood is that he will have a huge wage request but the 49ers can really show their intent by bringing him in, especially with Celtic pushing to take him back to Parkhead after Ange Postecoglou left the club for Tottenham.

It’s going to be a difficult summer and the club have already spoke to Daniel Farke about the position too, while Carlos Corberan at West Brom remains on the manager’s shortlist.
But Rodgers is without a doubt the man who has the best CV and record in the English game among those managers named and bringing him in would be a real coup for the club considering the situation we find ourselves in.
In other Leeds news, Angus Kinnear is “resigned” to losing one key first-team ace.
