Sam Allardyce to earn seven-figure bonus if Leeds United avoid relegation as Javi Gracia sacked
Leeds United will hand Sam Allardyce a seven-figure bonus if he helps them avoid relegation this season after he was hired to replace Javi Gracia.
The Whites made the decision to sack Gracia after another poor result against Bournemouth saw the team sit outside the relegation zone on goal difference with just four games remaining.
And Allardyce has taken the job until the end of the season in his first role since 2021, with The Times reporting (2 May) he will pick up a big bonus if he achieves survival.
“Sam Allardyce has made a shock return to football as the manager of Leeds United – and will earn a seven-figure bonus if he keeps the club in the Premier League,” they wrote on their official Twitter account.

Allardyce is walking in to a no-lose situation for himself considering the position the club are in right now.
As it stands we’re not in the relegation zone, but with four games remaining against Manchester City, Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham things don’t look great for us.

But with Gracia and Orta gone, the club are clearly trying to save themselves rather than just accepting the position that they’re in.
Big Sam will come in with little pressure on himself and hope that his presence and love for defensive football is enough to sneak some results and get much needed points on the board, while hoping that the teams below us can’t get results.
He’ll earn a pretty pay cheque from coming in, then we can move him on in the summer and bring someone else in with a long-term strategy. But that is easier in the Premier League than it is Championship, so we need Allardyce to deliver.
In other Leeds news, official announcement expected on Tuesday as backroom changes made.
