Thomas Tuchel delivers verdict on Leeds United ahead of PL clash

Chelsea will face Leeds United in the Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

Ahead of the match, Thomas Tuchel has revealed what he expects from Leeds, and how he is preparing his side for this game.

The Blues are winless in their last two games in all competitions, conceding six goals in the process.

“It will not stop until you’re in the shower,” Tuchel said, as quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post.

“We need to be ready for that from the first to the last minute. I expected intensity, runs, man-marking in the opponent’s half, a very unique approach to football and to play against.

“It reminds me a bit of Atalanta [in Italy], very unique. We need to be strong individually and we need to have very strong connections of two or three players, this is how we can impose our quality and this is what you need to do against Leeds.”

Key players missing

Leeds have developed a signature style under Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites are well trained to play a gung-ho, intense style of football that involves tireless running and chasing.

Tuchel has hailed it as a “very unique” approach similar to the one used by Atalanta.

It certainly won’t be an easy game, but Leeds will probably feel they can score away from home and give the Blues a strong fight.

Having said that the Whites have managed only two wins from their last eight Premier League games.

While it’s fair to say, Leeds have improved in recent weeks, the absence of several key players once again will make the job harder for the Argentine.

Leeds will be without Kalvin Phillips for this game. The England international has picked up a hamstring injury and he could undergo surgery on his shoulder too.

Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo and Liam Cooper are also missing for this tie.
