Super Computer predicts chances of Leeds relegation after loss v Manchester United

Leeds United now stand a 23% chance of being relegated from the Premier League, according to Five Thirty Eight.

Their Super Computer has shared their prediction after the Whites lost 4-2 against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side scored twice in 24 seconds to level the scores at Elland Road but crashed to defeat in the final moments.

Interestingly, there are five sides with bigger chances of going down than Leeds at this moment in time.

Everton returned to their usual selves with defeat at Southampton, after, in what is no surprise, putting in their only decent performance in months against the Whites.

Burnley and Watford both picked up three points over the weekend, but both have chances over 30% of going down to the Championship.

In Watford’s case, it stands at 71%, but Norwich are the clear favourites for the drop, with an 89% chance of going down.

Small chance.

This will no doubt grow over the next week with Liverpool and Spurs to come, who have just beaten Manchester City.

If we don’t sort out any kind of solidarity at the back, both could see us ship plenty of goals once again, and we don’t expect Bielsa to have learned any lessons or to change anything.

In relegation scraps, sometimes you have to.

We can accept going all out for results in games, but you need your full-strength side to do that – mainly Kalvin Phillips in midfield to mop things up.

Our midfield has tried their best to be everywhere in his absence, but they simply aren’t good enough defensively to do a similar job.

Adam Forshaw was everywhere yesterday, but he left huge gaps ahead of our defence which saw us concede two – there has to be method in the madness.

We don’t expect much across the next week in terms of points, but these aren’t the games where relegation will be decided – thankfully.
