Raphinha sends message to Barcelona star Dani Alves as Leeds United exit talk continues

Leeds United star Raphinha has delivered a message to Barcelona legend Dani Alves as they continue together on international duty with Brazil this month.

Phil Hay reported this week that the Catalan giants are indeed interested in the winger, but it would take between £60-£70million to seal the blockbuster exit.

Raphinha admitted he was simply a fan of Alves, but he may be disappointed with Barcelona nowhere near in a position to be paying out big transfer fees due to their struggles.

Writing on his personal Instagram account, Alves delivered a message after Brazil’s win over South Korea, something that Raphinha clearly enjoyed.

“I’m a fan,” he wrote, translated.

This was then flooded with Barcelona fans begging for him to push for the move to the Nou Camp.

Fan.

You can be a fan all you like, but it is becoming less and less like a reality that Raphinha will be lining up alongside Alves from next season and beyond.

Barcelona are currently kidding themselves if they think they can afford to sign the Brazilian, there is simply no chance unless Leeds throw themselves under the bus for no reason.

The Spanish giants are still in financial meltdown, and cannot even register the likes of Andreas Christensen and Frank Kessie despite them being confirmed on free transfers.

Joan Laporta is currently selling everyone a false dream at the Nou Camp and that isn’t how transfers work.

Leeds have the right to demand £60-£70million, and if other clubs don’t pay that, Raphinha will be staying at Elland Road and completing his contract.

If success follows that on the pitch in the Premier League, as well as a good World Cup campaign, the winner could be tempted into then signing a new contract.
