Phil Hay shares update on potential Jesse Marsch backroom staff at Leeds United
Phil Hay has shared an insight into how the potential backroom staff of Jesse Marsch will look at Leeds United.
The American is expected to be unveiled as Marcelo Bielsa’s replacement at Elland Road as early as today (28 February).
Former assistants Achim Beierlorzer and Rene Aufhauser are still in work at RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg respectively.

Writing for The Athletic on Monday morning, Hay dropped the latest on any potential arrivals alongside Marsch.
“There is no indication yet of how Marsch intends to construct his own backroom team or how large it will be,” he wrote.
“His assistant at Leipzig, Achim Beierlorzer, became interim boss after they sacked Marsch in December and is still in that post. His old assistant at Salzburg, Rene Aufhauser, is managing in Austria’s second division at Liefering, another club part of the Red Bull stable.”

Problem?
With two of his close assistants from recent jobs still in their posts, this could create a real issue for the Whites.
Marsch will want people he trusts close to him if given this job, but that won’t be possible without money being spent.
That being said, the American himself being unemployed saves a big cost that would likely have been needed if he was at a club.
With talks going back years, though, Marsch will have had time to be in touch with those closest to him as he looks to build a team for Elland Road.
A chance in the Premier League doesn’t come often, and those potentially being sounded out by Marsch would likely find it very hard to turn down.
Let’s hope that is the case.
