Phil Hay: More investment from Peter Lowy possible alongside 49ers at Leeds United
Phil Hay has shared that it is possible that Peter Lowy could increase his investment in Leeds United alongside the 49ers Enterprises.
It has been reported this week that the American consortium have the option to complete a full takeover of the Whites before 2024 for just under £500million.
Lowy, who currently holds 10% in the club as part of the 49ers Enterprises, is part of the ideas behind the redevelopment of Elland Road and could be set for a bigger role.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Hay shared what he’s has heard about Lowy’s current role at the club.
“He’s on the club’s board and he’s been involved in stadium development ideas,” he said. “Believe his holding is around 10% according to people in Australia (as part of 49ers Enterprises) but that hasn’t been confirmed.
When asked if he could also increase his investment alongside the 49ers in the next two years, this was his response.
“It’s very possible.”
Bound to happen.
Lowy has been added to the board since the arrival of the 49ers Enterprises, and that is surely set to be a long-term partnership.
Given that the Australian is bringing out ideas for the redevelopment of Elland Road, it is clear that he is has a massive role to play over the next two couple of years.
Hay shared that it was always the plan to have planning granted and building begins before 2024, and if the 49ers exercise their takeover right soon that could happen.
Lowy is going to be at the heart of that, and alongside that news, it could bring more investment from him as well as the 49ers.
This is news that is surely set to excite many, and we can’t wait to see the next steps for the club over the next few years.
