Phil Hay: Andrea Radrizzani has ‘odd’ Leeds clause, set up for complete 49ers takeover

Huge news broke on Monday morning as it was shared that the 49ers Enterprise have the option to complete the full takeover of Leeds United for over £400million.

David Ornstein shared the news that the cause is in place up until 2024 at Elland Road, suggesting that if Andrea Radrizzani buys another club, the deal would be voided.

Phil Hay has reacted to that news and shared if it is set to affect the complete takeover in the next couple of years.

Responding to a fan on his personal Twitter account, Hay shared that everything was set up for complete control from the 49ers.

“I know it sounds like an odd clause but that’s what’s in the contract,” he wrote.

“Realistically though, this feels set up for the 49ers deal to go through.”

Set up.

This did feel like a strange part of the story, but it looks as though it isn’t going to affect anything over the next couple of years.

Radrizzani and his company, Aser, have been linked with numerous clubs across Europe, including the likes of Valencia.

Paraag Marathe and the 49ers have proved that they are more than ready to take complete control of the club, and everyone is ready for that.

Given that the deal could be worth over £400million, this would take Leeds to the next level, especially with their backing after that.

With Elland Road also included in the proposal, there are bound to be huge upgrades in place moving forward, just look at what the 49ers have done in recent years.

Investment is coming slowly at this moment, and it looks as though the next round of financial backing will see the 49ers Enterprises take complete control – bring it on.
