Leeds well advanced in handing out COVID-19 booster jabs this season

Leeds United are “well advanced” in their effort to hand out COVID-19 booster jabs this season, according to Matt Hughes.

The Daily Mail journalist has shared that Wolves look like the only Premier League club to complete that before the end of the year though.

The Whites have been relatively lucky with positive cases so far this season, with only Mateusz Klich and Junior Firpo hit by the virus.

Writing in his latest report, Hughes shared the latest state of play at Elland Road as we head into the busy Christmas and New Year schedule.

“Sportsmail has learned that Wolves are the only top-flight club set to meet Boris Johnson’s target of boosting all over-18s by the end of the month,” he wrote.

“Though Leeds and Brentford are also understood to be well advanced.”

Rising.

Boosters or not, it looks as though Premier League teams are really starting to struggle with the new strand of the virus.

As positive cases skyrocketed to 42 this week, another game (Brentford v Manchester United) was called off.

Leeds are yet to record a positive test this month, but Arsenal, who are set to travel to Elland Road on Saturday have had one – something that could yet increase.

With games being postponed regularly now and positive tests going up, could a halt be brought to proceedings in the Premier League?

It would benefit Leeds and their injury situation, but that isn’t stopping them from cracking on and getting their boosters done ahead of 16 other sides in the decision alongside Brentford.
