Leeds United set to remain with SBOTOP sponsorship beyond this season – The Athletic

Leeds United are set to continue their multi-year sponsorship deal with SBOTOP in the 2023-24 season at Elland Road, according to Philip Buckingham.

The Athletic journalist has reported that Premier League clubs are working on commercial deals that matter a lot in a world where cash is the main king in town.

Premier League relegation could see the value of the deal plummet though, and with Jesse Marsch on thin-ice, and business matters could be something that sees the ice finally crack beneath him and his job.

Writing in his latest column for The Athletic, Buckingham shared updates from nearly every single club in the Premier League as money takes centre stage.

“Premier League clubs are working on commercial deals, none of which will set pulses racing like the capture of a new centre forward, but they matter a lot in a world where cash is king,” he wrote.

“Leeds, meanwhile, are expected to continue their multi-year deal with SBOTOP.

“Premier League survival also has the potential to make or break deals, with the value of shirt sponsorship plummeting if clubs fall into the Championship and miss out on global exposure.”

Money.

As much as owners want to see their clubs succeed, financial success is often the number one priority for those who are more often than not simply businessmen.

Andrea Radrizzani has to take credit for the work he has done at Elland Road, getting the club back to the Premier League and setting up a huge takeover with the 49ers Enterprises.

News has emerged in recent weeks that Leeds have jumped into the Deloitte Money League Top 20, something that was categorically impossible when Radrizzani first took over at the club.

Commercial deals and sponsorships help that, such as the SBOTOP deal and the move to bring in Adidas to manufacture the kits at Elland Road.

The time has come to pass the baton over though, and it would be no surprise if the 49ers want to go down their own route, possibly bringing in even more lucrative deals.

First things first, we must stay in the Premier League.
