Leeds United have a four-year contract waiting on the table for Fenerbache forward Mergim Berisha, according to Osman Cengiz.

The Turkish journalist, who has worked with Sports Digitale previously, has shared that the striker has been offered to the Whites for the small fee of £4.3million this summer.

Negotiations are said to be ongoing between the club, although Berisha has offers to consider from Germany on top of a potential switch to Elland Road.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Cengiz shared the latest surrounding the deal as the Whites look to get this one over the line as soon as possible.

“Leeds United, which wants to transfer Fenerbahçe’s forward Mergim Berisha, continues its negotiations with Fenerbahçe,” he wrote.

“Fenerbahce, who made an offer of 5 million euros [£4.3m] to Leeds, will sign a 4-year contract with Berisha in case of agreement. Berisha also has offers from Germany.”

Long term.

Jesse Marsch has worked with Berisha before, so this yet again, an easy link to make.

Not only that, but the talisman played some of his best football under the American, so if a cheap deal did become available, it would be no surprise to see him arrive.

The Whites are likely to push ahead with Club Brugges wonder Charles De Ketelaere this week, but it is unlikely that anyone would say no to two new faces in the final third.

At just above £4million, that could represent perfect value for money, and then give Marsch the opportunity to play two up top, something he is yet to do in pre-season though.

This is certainly one to watch the longer the window goes on, with Victor Orta under pressure to deliver that new striker that everyone has been crying out for.

With Wolves less than two weeks away now in the Premier League, time is ticking very quickly.
