Leeds players who tested positive for COVID-19 will be ready for Burnley clash

Leeds United players who tested positive for COVID-19 will be ready to return against Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

That’s according to Lee Sobot, who shared the latest news from Thorp Arch after the games with Liverpool and Aston Villa were postponed.

Diego Llorente was one of those who returned a positive test, but the others were unnamed within the squad.

Writing in his latest piece for the Yorkshire Evening Post, Sobot shared the latest news from within the Leeds camp.

“The Whites players that tested positive for COVID will be in line to return against the Clarets who sit in the division’s relegation zone and third-bottom but just five points behind fifth-bottom Leeds, and with two games in hand,” he wrote.

Brilliant news.

Given the rules and how Llorente was already positive for the game against Arsenal, others within the squad would have to have returned positive tests.

That is how the Premier League guidelines work for games to be postponed, so the games against Villa and Liverpool being off hopefully gave them enough time.

With Patrick Bamford also admitting he could return, there could be numerous new faces back available in what would be huge news.

This is a fresh start, and a big win against Burnley would catapult us into some winnable games against the likes of West Ham, Newcastle and Aston Villa.

With numerous names back available, hopefully, this can be the week that everyone needed to get back on the horse and start rising up the table.
