Jon Bon Jovi sends message to much-criticised Leeds player ahead of clash v Boro
Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford found himself with a new supporter ahead of the clash with Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.
Jon Bon Jovi has backed Bamford to start scoring ahead of the game as he finds himself in a real slump of form just at the wrong time for Leeds.
Bamford has scored in just one game in his last 10 and hasn’t hit the net since the 3-2 win against Millwall.
Talking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on Wednesday, Bon Jovi sent the message that Leeds fans will hope spurs him into action.
BBC journalist Adam Pope tweeted the unlikely message of support on Wednesday and Leeds fans are loving it.
One quoted lyrics from one of his best songs while another said he “didn’t expect to see Bon Jovi and Patrick Bamford being friends on my timeline on a cold February Wednesday morning but here we are.”

Bamford is a big Bon Jovi fan and he will love the message that was sent out, with the lead singer saying, “Patrick – I’m holding your next game cheque! You score, you get it… you don’t score, you don’t get it. How’s that for motivation!”
Bamford is Living on a Prayer himself at the moment with new striker Jean-Kevin Augustin straining on the leash from the bench.
He’s come in for sustained criticism from the fans and while Bamford adds more than just goals to this Leeds side, he needs to start finding his shooting boots.
The last two wins were both 1-0s and the ones before that were 3-2 and 5-4.
Winning by just one goal is fine until it’s not and Leeds really can’t afford to drop many points over the next 12 games.
