Javi Gracia faces questioning at Leeds United amid triple injury fear v Arsenal

Leeds United manager Javi Gracia will be quizzed on the severity of the injuries to his key stars ahead of their clash with Arsenal on Saturday [1 April], according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites return to Premier League action on Saturday when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates, however, Gracia may well be without three of his key stars in a potentially crushing blow.

Wilfried Gnonto [ankle] and Max Wober [thigh] both returned from respective international matches for Italy and Austria with injury troubles while Tyler Adams is set to face a spell out of the side after surgery on a thigh injury picked up before their 4-2 win over Wolves.

And according to the Yorkshire Evening Post [28 March], Gracia is set to face questions on his key stars when he sits down with the media later this week.

“Head coach Gracia will be quizzed on the severity of Gnonto’s ankle sprain and the thigh problem sustained by Wober when he sits down with the media later this week to preview the Arsenal clash”, the report states.

Damaging blows

The international break certainly came at the wrong time for Gracia and his men following their morale-boosting 4-2 win over Wolves on 18 March.

The club will have loved to follow that up with another game a few days later but had to wait a whole two weeks with the break coming at a rather unnecessary time which certainly disrupts their flow.

And that flow has been severely affected now after the injuries to Gnonto, Wober and Adams who all are set to miss Saturday’s game against Arsenal.

It doesn’t help matters that all three players have proven crucial and pivotal components for the club this season, especially having joined this season.

Gracia will definitely face a whole host of questions and updates in regard to his key stars but their absence is certainly damaging to the Whites’ chances of any success against Mikel Arteta’s rampant league leaders.

The Spaniard will have replacements ready to go, but he’d certainly rather have at least two out of those three stars fit and firing right now.

Let’s hope these injuries don’t prove fatal to the club’s aims of securing their Premier League status for next season. It’s such fine margins right now.
