‘It does look like we are inching closer’, ‘Crazy’ – Many Leeds fans react to QSI takeover news
Leeds United fans have been reacting in their droves on Twitter after it was reported that a deal between Andrea Radrizzani and PSG owner Nasser al-Khelaif is close.
On Monday, 90min claimed that Radrizzani and the QSI chief had been locked in talks as the Qatari-based investment group aimed to touch down in English football.
More interestingly, it was reported that a takeover deal worth around £120million was close to being agreed, meaning that Leeds could be heading into next season with a new owner at the helm.
While many fans will take this report with a pinch of salt due to the longevity of QSI’s link with Leeds, The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has since added there is no secret that talks have been held between Radrizzani and the interested party.
Hay does, admittedly, say that the ‘inching closer’ stories have been going on for a long time, which shows he doesn’t seem too convinced by the veracity of 90min’s report.
But still, there is interest there and that means there is a possibility a deal can be agreed.
Leeds fans do not seem the most excited bunch by this update though, with many fed up of reading stories like this.
However there are some who are eager to see QSI complete their takeover at Elland Road, with one thinking that this latest update shows it is “inching closer”.
