Future unclear for five Leeds United players, they may have no future at club
Five senior Leeds United players are now facing uncertain futures at the club this summer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Kiko Casilla, Helder Costa, Ian Poveda, Leif Davis and Alfie McCalmont are returning from loan spells away from Elland Road with their futures up in the air.
It is suggested that their roles are now unclear, if they have any role at all – suggesting that some, if not all could be moved on and sold by Jesse Marsch.

Writing in the report, Joe Donnohue shared that there are big question marks surrounding the future of many as the staff revert to more familiar roles.
“In addition, there will be decisions made on those players returning to Thorp Arch from their loan spells this season,” he wrote.
“Helder Costa, Ian Poveda, Leif Davis, Alfie McCalmont and Kiko Casilla are among those who spent 2021/22 away from Elland Road but remain contracted to Leeds.
“It is unclear the roles they will play – if any – at Leeds in the near future.”

Time to go?
Two names on that list spring off the page immediately, and they need to be moved on.
Casilla and Costa have both been failed signings, but for very different reasons. Starting with the goalkeeper, he should never be welcomed back at the club after he was found guilty of racially abusing Jonathan Leko.
As for the Angolan international, the winger never looked right ever since the moment he joined from Wolves for big money, and it is time to cut our losses.
If McCalmont was ever going to make it after all these years in the academy, out on loan and even training under Marcelo Bielsa, it surely would have happened for him at Elland Road.
Poveda and Davis stand the best chances of making an impression under Marsch, but we even think it is too late for them both too and it may be best to get them out and start again in those areas.
Crysencio Summerville is miles ahead of Poveda now, and a new young full-back is being targeted, possibly Aberdeen’s Calvin Ramsay.
It is time to get rid of some of the deadwood at the club, and it may be best to start with this five.
