Exclusive: Paul Robinson makes major claim about full Leeds takeover

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has said that Andrea Radrizzani’s reveal that he would move to Leeds for a year if the club get promoted has ‘put paid to a full takeover’.

However, he does think that Leeds will take fresh investment with Radrizzani staying on and thinks that continuity could breed success on the pitch.

Radrizzani was quoted by LeedsLive as saying, “This year I decided to come back for one year in Milan to stay here with my family so my son can learn Italian and go to school here, the first year of school.

“My family’s here in Milan, up and down between London, Leeds and Milan. We have a deal with my wife that if we get promoted, we’ll move to Leeds for one year.”

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “This puts paid to a full takeover at Leeds but not to partial investment.

“Radrizzani has made it clear he wants to take extra investment if Leeds get promoted and he’s probably taken the club as far as he can do with what he’s got.

“He’s done a fantastic job with Leeds, taken them to the brink of the Premier League, and knowing what I know about him, he’s not the sort of guy who’s going to walk away from the club.

“He’s thrown his heart and soul into Leeds United and I think he would want to be a part of making history at the club.

“No matter what investment comes in I think he will still remain a big part of the club. That continuity is always key to success too. Stability and continuity at boardroom level often breed success. The club’s on a real sound footing under Radrizzani.”

There are two main parties in the frame for investing in Leeds – QSI, headed by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who also owns PSG, and the San Francisco 49ers, who have already bought a stake in the club.

We’d be very happy to see Radrizzani stay on and take on extra investment in the Premier League.

He’s laid the groundwork for success on the pitch, securing Marcelo Bielsa as manager and keeping the club on the right side of profit & sustainability.
