Lucas Perri could be on his way out of Leeds United just a year after signing.
The Brazilian was the goalkeeper of choice for Daniel Farke and Co. in the summer, as a new number one was eyed for the Premier League.
That didn't come as a surprise after the failures of Illan Meslier in the Championship before Karl Darlow stepped in for the final weeks of the second-tier campaign.
It was a similar story this time around, with the Wales international coming in to replace the summer signing even earlier in the season.
Perri could now be done with Leeds, especially with a new option being tracked weeks before the transfer window even opens.
There have been few redeeming moments for the ex-Lyon man after sealing his move to Yorkshire last summer.
He still managed a fair number of appearances, but he simply did himself no favours by conceding nearly two per game in the top flight.
| Stat (Premier League 25/26) | Lucas Perri |
| Appearances | 16 |
| Goals conceded | 29 |
| Save percentage (%) | 56.7 |
| Goals conceded per 90 | 1.81 |
That prompted Farke to once again trust Darlow, and a new goalkeeper has also been linked with a switch to Elland Road.
Lukas Hornicek has been a target in LS11 since March, and a report from Portuguese outfit Bola na Rede has reaffirmed that interest on Wednesday.
Braga seemingly aren't open to transfer negotiations and instead have their eyes set on a new contract for the Czechia international.
As that might be, it still spells bad news for Perri as Hornicek could be one Leeds target in a long line in the hunt for a new goalkeeper.
The Portuguese outfit are clearly hopeful of keeping hold of their shot stopper after a stellar first full season as their go-to man.
His form has prompted interest from Liga Portugal giants Porto and Benfica, but the lure of the Premier League could change things this summer.
Leeds have had a long-standing interest in Hornicek, and with the right sort of bid, they could certainly test Braga's resolve.
The Whites were willing to spend around £15million for Perri, so anything north of that wouldn't be a surprise.
All this doesn't spell good news for Perri, who surely won't take lightly to being number two at Elland Road, or even number three if the Czech man comes in.
