Leeds United set to rekindle Azzedine Ounahi interest as Girona relegation confirmed
Leeds United have retained their interest in signing Azzedine Ounahi, MOT Leeds News understands.
The Whites will be intent on adding more numbers to their midfield this summer, and even more so if Ao Tanaka were to leave.
He's been linked with an exit from Elland Road, though his recent return to the starting 11 may have changed their stance after it was claimed he would be allowed to leave.
However, with or without the Japan international, Leeds want more options in the middle of the park, having previously been linked with Ounahi.
MOT Leeds News understands that Ounahi is a target again this summer, with Girona expecting interest.
Who is Azzedine Ounahi?
Ounahi was linked with Leeds while he was playing his football in France, though the Moroccan international has since switched to Spain after signing for Girona last summer.
However, the LaLiga outfit had their relegation confirmed on Saturday, with it now expected that Ounahi will attract interest from around Europe.

MOT Leeds News has learned that the Whites are one of the first teams to have expressed an interest in the midfielder, who managed seven goal involvements in just 20 starts this season.
The 26-year-old is under contract until 203, leaving Girona with the cards, though an exit is still looking likely.
What would Ounahi bring to Leeds?
Ounahi is known for his creativity, and that is demonstrated by the fact that he created 11 big chances in La Liga.
Only 3.5 per cent of players in his position created more.
No midfielder in LaLiga completed more dribbles than the 26-year-old, who averaged 3.52 per 90, and 69 in total throughout the campaign.
Leeds are in need of more central creativity, and he could be the ideal target to achieve that.
