Dan James scored an "unbelievable" goal for Wales against Bosnia and Herzegovina away from Leeds United on Thursday.

Cardiff City Stadium hosted Sergei Barbarez's team on 26 March in the semi-final of the World Cup play-off, with the ex-Manchester United winger scoring a stunning long-range strike in the 51st minute, but Edin Dzeko equalised late in regulation time to make it 1-1 and the visitors eventually won the tie on penalties.

Former Welsh striker Nathan Blake was left stunned after the Whites' attacker did the unexpected for his national side against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Daniel Farke hasn't relied much on James this season due to his persistent injuries, but the winger has clearly shown he's ready to play a key role in the final stretch of the campaign.

James's fitness issues at Elland Road have threatened to affect his future at Leeds, but those concerns will surely be gone now.

Farke can be excused for starting the Welsh attacker in just four Premier League matches this season as he's picked up multiple knocks.

The German manager may have no excuse not to use the 28-year-old now after he's just put in a magnificent display for Y Dreigiau.

If Craig Bellamy can have faith in James in such a monumental game for Wales, then there's no reason for Farke not to trust the forward.

Apart from scoring, the winger was a constant threat on the right-wing and could've had a second after hitting the crossbar in the 59th minute.

Speaking on BBC One Wales on 26 March, Blake said, "That's an unbelievable finish from James, none of us were expecting him to take that shot on. On the half volley, right footed, 20 yards out. Absolutely stunning goal."

Wales contingent to come back in fine form to Elland Road

James wasn't the only one who made an impressive showing with Wales, as Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu put in an impressive shift.

The Leeds goalkeeper pulled off a world-class save to keep Bosnia and Herzegovina out when his team were leading by one goal.

It's certainly encouraging to see the West Yorkshire outfit's Welsh contingent doing well and they will surely return to LS11 in fine form.

Farke will now hope James and Co. can put in similar performances in the final seven Premier League matches to keep the Peacocks in the top flight.
