Leeds United and Daniel Farke will wait until the end of the season to talk about the German head coach's future at Elland Road.

Both the 49ers and the Whites boss are said to be fully focused on what happens with the club as the Premier League season draws to an end.

The former Norwich City boss's current deal will see him stay in LS11 until June 2027, but this summer could make or break his fate.

As reported by The Athletic this Monday, any talks over a new deal have been pushed back until once the current campaign ends.

Farke could be sacked if Leeds are relegated, as the 49ers were weighing up replacements just a couple of months ago.

Daniel Farke said to have long-term vision with Leeds United

Farke wants to be successful at Leeds, and his transition to the current formation that he deploys was possibly the changing point that kept him at Elland Road.

The German had lost lots of the fanbase after a defeat to Aston Villa earlier in the season, but a 3-2 loss to Manchester City was where the Whites came back stronger.

Now, with five Premier League games to go, Leeds sit eight points away from Tottenham, who occupy the final relegation spot.

If Farke were able to keep the Whites up, many supporters would demand the 49ers to give him new terms, and this could be the case.

The 49-year-old is said to have a long-term vision for Leeds and wants to build a new and durable winning mentality at Elland Road for years to come.

Does Farke deserve a new deal?

The current projections have Leeds as safe from Premier League relegation, but anything can happen in football.

Leeds still have to play Tottenham away and West Ham at the London Stadium on the final day of the season, with plenty of twists and turns yet to take place.

  • Leeds are unbeaten in six games
  • The Whites have a trip to Wembley lined up
  • Farke has only lost four games this year

Relegation is still a possibility, and a drop off at this point would likely see the 49ers take action and relieve Farke of his duties.

However, whatever happens from now until the end of the campaign, so long as next season starts with Leeds in the top-flight, Farke should be the manager, and someone with a fresh deal.

He's done tremendously well to turn things around, proving his own doubters wrong, and a summer of improving the squad could see the Whites kick on.
