'Baffled how he is still here' - Many Leeds fans destroy 'Walking disaster' in U23s v Norwich

Leeds United fans have torn goalkeeper Kiko Casilla to shreds for his performance for the Under-23s on Sunday afternoon.

Casilla, 33, was one of six senior players who started against Norwich’s Under-23s at Thorp Arch as Pascal Struijk, Ian Poveda, Pablo Hernandez, Raphinha and Tyler Roberts were also handed run-outs by Marcelo Bielsa.

Although it was a relatively routine 2-0 win for Mark Jackson’s side in Yorkshire, Casilla’s performance was widely criticised by fans on Twitter.

Norwich did have the ball in the back of the net in the first half but it was ruled out for a foul in the build-up.

Casilla should have done a lot better to stop the officials from having the opportunity to disallow the goal as he pretty much fell over and let the ball in the back of the net.

If the goal had stood, it would have gone down in the ever-growing list of errors that have led to goals by the Spanish goalkeeper, who’s rightly lost his place in Bielsa’s starting line-up.

However, some fans think that it’s a mystery how Casilla is still contracted to the club at all.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

We don’t think Casilla should be a Leeds player still.

Even if you discount his awful form and ability to turn a game on its head with his poor decision-making, the ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper was banned for racial abuse last season.

People haven’t forgotten that and we would rather see Elia Caprile given chances to play for the Under-23s instead of the disgraced Spaniard.

In other Leeds United news, Jermaine Jenas was blown away by this “sensational” player in Leeds’ win over Aston Villa.
