Leeds United crashed to a disappointing 2-1 defeat in their Premier League clash against Everton on Wednesday night.
Goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin saw the Whites two behind at half-time, although that didn’t affect them too much.
Raphinha pulled one back early in the second half, but despite a monumental effort and numerous chances, it ended in defeat at Elland Road.
Luke Ayling described it best after the game, you can’t go two-goals behind and expect to consistently win in the Premier League.
In the best division in the world, there are the best attackers and defenders, and Leeds have certainly added to that in their own special way.
The same problems continue to haunt the Whites though, with set-pieces something that won’t change until reinforcements with height are brought to the club.
It is another reality check, and something that shows just how well Leeds are performing whilst sitting in mid-table – survival is the key this year.
We asked our MOT Super Fans to select their Saints and Sinners from the 2-1 defeat, and there was a clear answer in one of the categories.
Raphinha was the standout player once again, as he continues to prove how much of a bargain he was for the Whites.
