Leeds Super Fans rave about idea of signing Matheus Pereira from West Brom

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Leeds Insider Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road.

Leeds United fans are drooling over the idea of West Brom star Matheus Pereira swapping the West Midlands for West Yorkshire in the summer.

The Baggies saw their relegation back to the Championship confirmed at the weekend and that has led to speculation surrounding the future of their dazzling Brazilian.

Pereira, 25, has scored 10 goals and supplied five assists in his debut season in the Premier League, leading to The Express reporting that Leeds are keen on the ex-Sporting CP playmaker.

West Brom reportedly value the South American at £20million and our Leeds Super Fans believe he would be a superb addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad before next season.

One of them even claims that Pereira “could be a better option than Rodrigo De Paul”.

Here is what they had to say:

Pereira may have taken his time to get settled in the Premier League but in the last few months, the left-footed attacker has shown his true quality to the division.

He’s graceful on the ball, he’s able to score, he’s got an abundance of creativity, he can dazzle defenders and he’s someone who won’t shy away from a challenge.

Whether or not he’ll be able to meet Bielsa’s gruelling demands is another question but there’s no denying that Pereira is someone who’s made his mark in the Premier League despite playing for a woeful West Brom team.

For £20million, he would be an absolute steal.
