Southampton want to replace Leeds United target Che Adams with Aberdeen striker Duk

Southampton are reportedly looking at Aberdeen striker Duk to replace Leeds United and Everton target Che Adams this summer.

According to TEAMtalk [22 May], the Saints striker wants to leave post their relegation as he wants to play in the top flight.

Thus far, he’s played 124 games in the Premier League and does not want to feature in the Championship as they look to secure promotion next season.

Relegation costs

Leeds will be in the same boat as Southampton if they get relegated and that’s looking like a very realistic possibility for them.

They need to rely on others to drop points and perhaps even lose on the final day and also beat Spurs at Elland Road.

The odds are firmly stacked against them and they know that it’s going to be a miracle to keep them up second season in a row on the final day of the campaign.

Adams is a decent striker but Leeds do not really need another number nine and they’ve got to make key decisions about player futures first.

Patrick Bamford could be shown the door and it remains to be seen what the next manager does with Georginio Rutter.

He’s been a record signing and still has not been utilised completely and he could very well go down as one of the worst signings in their history.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
