'Shocking', 'Absolutely disgusting' – Some Leeds fans want EFL action after controversy v Fulham

It didn’t take long for Alexander Mitrovic to make his mark on the match between Leeds United and Fulham, but it was from the very worst part of his game.

With just two minutes on the clock, he deliberately elbowed Ben White in the face after the Leeds centre-back had cleared the ball.

It was an absolutely blatant red that was missed by both the referee and the linesman and shows why the Championship needs VAR.

Losing him so early would have given Leeds an absolutely huge advantage in what is such a crucial game.

“It’s intentional,” said Andy Hinchcliffe on the Sky Sports commentary. “He knows exactly what he’s doing and he’s mighty fortunate to still be on the pitch.”

Leeds fans were absolutely disgusted with the Fulham man and let him know exactly what they thought of him on Twitter.

The Leeds players did their talking on the pitch and struck on the 10-minute mark through Patrick Bamford.

He passed a beautiful finish in the left of the goal, giving the Fulham keeper no chance.

It was the perfect start for Leeds and thankfully White was okay after the cynical and violent attack from Mitrovic.

He should be facing retrospective action and could now be banned for the crucial run-in.

In the meantime, here’s the video evidence the EFL will need and this is what the Leeds fans make of Mitrovic…
