Report shares if Spurs open talks with Leeds United to sign Dan James
Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly not yet entered talks over the potential transfer of Dan James this summer.
According to Football London, the Champions League side have not taken the interest in the Wales international beyond consideration.
He is understood to get less game time should he move to the capital than he is at Elland Road, having joined from Manchester United last summer.
Line up a replacement
Leeds have been looking for a number nine this summer so it does make sense to identify a player that can play out wide as well as down the middle.
The Whites cannot go back to the drawing board for another wide player as any James sale will need them to sign a replacement.
The value of the Welshman isn’t going to increase any time soon and the fact that he’s a record signing makes it a bad financial move as he struggles to nail his spot in the first team as well.
If Victor Orta and co are offered a fee that’s close to what Leeds paid to sign him last summer, we will not be surprised if they cash in on his services.
He is one of the club’s most expensive players and his time at Elland Road can be termed as a flop thus far.
Hopefully, Spurs open talks for him soon so that the Welshman can be on his way to London sooner rather than later.
